Often we understand intellectually what we want from our relationships but then respond automatically and find it hard to change. Disconnection in relationships doesn’t just cause arguments or strife, but also confusion, disdain and resentment. These feelings can get us stuck in uncomfortable, but familiar, patterns that stop us from seeing the cause of the issues. Whatever our patterns, they developed long before we are consciously aware of them. Therapy offers a place to explore those patterns, and to understand what is happening beneath them. Ideally, we develop different ways of relating so we can reconnect with others and ourselves.

The effects of trauma don’t always look like trauma. It’s likely you function well much of the time, but carry the lasting effects of the experiences that shaped how you see yourself, others, and the world. Trauma effects how you handle stress, and react to others. You may find yourself wondering why things effect you more deeply. Those experiencing the effects of trauma are often stuck in patterns that effect how they experience all of life; knowing what they want, yet confused on what or how to make change. Therapy can help you make sense of these patterns and heal what still feels unresolved, so you can move through life with greater ease.

Anxiety is a normal part of the human experience but, in excess, it’s more than worry or stress. Instead, it often feels like your mind is taking off without you, often anticipating what might go wrong, or replaying what happened. It can show up as overthinking, self-doubt, difficulty relaxing, irritability, physical tension, or a “uneasiness” you can’t quite explain. Therapy can help you understand what’s underneath these feelings to reduce the intensity and frequency of anxious episodes and allow you to relax in the present, comfortable that you can handle what life has in store.

Maybe you've started to wonder if you're the problem. You find yourself second-guessing your memories, apologizing when your are not wrong, or working hard to keep a relationship from becoming even more difficult. Do you walk on eggshells or choose your words very carefully? Are you questioning your value and worth? Have you lost touch with what you think, feel, need, or want? Therapy can help understand what is happening, create healthy boundaries and reestablish a strong sense of self. You no longer have to abandon yourself to feel connected.

Therapists also need a place to be fully human. Whether you’re navigating your own relationships, burnout, old patterns, or the complexities of being a clinician, therapy can offer a space to look more deeply and honestly at what’s happening beneath the surface.

I see supervision as a mentorship. A place to think deeply about your work, strengthen your clinical skills, and grow your confidence as a therapist. I help my associates to build their business skills as well as their clinical ones. My goal is to support you in developing your own voice while providing the guidance, perspective, and clinical knowledge needed to continue growth as a thoughtful, capable clinician.
