Hi, I’m Lauren Blalock, MA, LMFT # 129468

Compassion creates the foundation for meaningful therapeutic work. Expertise gives that work direction. I bring both to the therapy room—combining clinical knowledge with a warm, individualized approach to help you understand what’s keeping you stuck and create meaningful, lasting change.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is integrative, drawing from psychodynamic, relational, and depth-oriented perspectives. This means we’ll look beyond the symptoms or challenges bringing you to therapy and explore the deeper patterns, experiences, and relationships that have shaped how you understand yourself and move through the world.

While my work is grounded in depth-oriented psychotherapy, I also draw from a range of clinical approaches and interventions, tailoring our work to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all model. Sometimes therapy calls for deep exploration and insight, other times it calls for more practical tools, support, or a different way of approaching what's happening.

Most importantly, I see therapy as a collaborative relationship. I bring clinical knowledge, curiosity, and compassion, while you bring your experience of yourself. Together, we can create a space where you can feel understood while also being thoughtfully challenged to grow.

Let’s see what’s possible when you begin to relate to yourself and others differently.

I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles, and I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. My clinical training and experience have included private practice, community mental health, school-based settings (K-8th), early-childhood development settings, and a private coaching practice. This range of experience has given me a broad understanding of the many ways emotional and relational difficulties can affect a person’s life.

Additionally, I've completed training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) through the Humanitarian Assistance Program, along with specialized training in trauma and complex PTSD. I'm also a formally trained coach through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), which has expanded my ability to help clients not only understand patterns, but move toward meaningful goals and lasting change.

Today, I lead my own group psychotherapy practice, where I provide individual and family/marital therapy. I also provide clinical supervision and mentorship to Associate Marriage & Family Therapists, within my practice, and Stori Psychotherapy. I enjoy supporting developing clinicians as they strengthen their skills and grow into their professional identities.

My practice is intentionally inclusive and welcoming to people of all backgrounds, identities, and life experiences. We strive to provide culturally attuned care and to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel respected, and safe to be themselves. We welcome clients with diverse cultural and racial backgrounds, gender and sexual identities, abilities, family structures, and lived experiences.
